“Earthrise” was the first photo of the Earth taken from deep space by Bill Anders on 1968’s Apollo 8 mission. The image of a vulnerable Earth, our home planet, floating in the darkness of space, is credited with kick-starting the environmental movement. Learn more about this mission right here in Burlington – at the Heritage Flight Museum, founded by Bill Anders, and located at the Skagit Regional Airport!
