Kudos to community for support of kids' museum

We've always thought of the Children's Museum of Skagit County as an important community resource - and not just because it's a lot of fun. Seeing the museum in its new setting at Cascade Mall in Burlington reinforces that notion dramatically. After operating out of a downtown Mount Vernon storefront, the museum recently reopened in a larger space at the mall, aided in part by a $1 a year rental agreement. With more room to operate, new and improved exhibits, and a central location that's already generating plenty of kid traffic, the museum has a chance to become a high priority destination point. A long list of local businesses and organizations offered cash and in-kind donations to help make it all possible. Their generosity is exceeded only by their foresight in recognizing the long-term value of such an investment.
