2018 Summer Camps for Kids!

Choose from our wide selection of Summer Camps for 2017. Space is limited in each session, so register early!   Camp fees include materials and must be paid in advance to guarantee a space in the camp.   Before & After Camp Care is available! Members save 10%!   Children must be accompanied by an adult if they are unable to toilet independently. Please complete and return an Authorization of Consent to Treatment of a Minor before the first day of class.

Ages 7 and up

Would you like to know how to do that trick? This camp is for you! Learn some tricks and then see if you want to join us later this summer to learn how to be a magician! Sign up today for a $25 discount on tuition for the “Discover Magic” camp in August! Deal ends Friday!

An afternoon filled with magic! What are the secrets to being a magician? Are you curious? If so, then this camp is for you!

10  a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 26-28

Ages 5 and up

For the older kiddos, explore the many different facets of science! Each day will focus on a different type of science including: magic of science, chemical reactions, and outer space!

1  – 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 26-28

Ages 5 and up

Bake and decorate yummy, healthy treats! Carrot cake, banana bread, cookies and more! Children will learn basic kitchen skills and learn names of cooking utensils. Materials fee included.

10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday, June 29

Ages 4 and up

Get ready to twirl & leap! Campers will learn all about the different styles of dance, how they’re performed and try it themselves in this mini Ballet class! We may learn a few French words as well! Dress in clothes that are easy to move in!

Ages 4 and up

Hands on messy science fun for all! Make Oobleck, lava lamps, and inflate a balloon with vinegar, shaving cream fun and more in this camp! Dress for mess!

1o a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, July 2

Ages 5 to up

Dig for dinosaurs, hatch an ice dinosaur egg and build a wooden dinosaur model as we explore the world of dinosaurs! This class is dino-mite!

Ages 4 and up

Let’s get creative and choose your favorites from a variety of crafts! What material will you use? How will you decorate it? It’s a craft closet of goodies

Ages 7 and up

Explore maritime, aeronautical, road maps, compasses and directions! Map the museum in direction and number of steps and landmarks!

Ages 3 and up

Based on the classic tale of the 3 Little Pigs, build houses out of sticks, straw and bricks and let’s put them to the test! Will they stand against various wind tests?

Ages 3 and up

In this camp kids will use their imagination to create and build using a variety of materials! We will also explore building with Legos, magna tiles and straw builders!

Ages 4 and up

Have fun with waterbeads! Kids will learn the science of how they expand, have some sensory play and create a project with waterbeads! Kids will take some home to play with as well!

10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, July 9-11

Ages 4 to up

Let’s get messy and explore FIZZ, BUBBLE AND POP experiments and chemical reactions in this open-ended science exploration class. Dress for mess and be ready for some fun! Kids will explore many science stations!

Ages 4 to 5

Get ready for Kindergarten! Brush up on those skills that are needed before entering Kindergarten! Circle time, social-emotional skills, language, literacy and math!

Ages 3 and up

Our little heroes will learn to strengthen their superhero skills through obstacle courses, make their own superhero cape, and learn about what makes each of them a hero!

Ages 6 and up

You have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Wizardry! Come explore the world of Harry Potter! Get sorted into a house and begin your magical transformation. Make your own wand, brew potions, learn about magical creatures and participate in our Quidditch tournament!

Ages 6 and up

Create a jean pocket purse and dazzle it up any way you want! Do you like to bead bracelets? Create some bracelets for your friends and family!

Get ready to dance! Join Zumba instructor Sharlyn Wersen to learn a few routines! High energy and lots of fun! Dress in clothes that are easy to move in!

Ages 5 and up

Do you want to learn about the magical world of rocks? Exploring geology and being creative with rocks! Learn and test the different properties of rocks and take home a mini Rite in the Rain notebook!

Ages 4 to up

Join us as we explore the world of bugs and their habitats! Campers will learn the parts of an insect, life cycles, and get a chance each day to explore outdoors to find and gather bugs to look at!

This is a hands on cooking class where the child is given the freedom to explore the world of flavor using a recipe and guided assistance from an instructor. Proper knife skills will be a part of this class.

Ages Pregnancy to 2

In this FREE interactive class with Dr. Joseph Garcia, learn the benefits of baby sign language! Parents bring your blankets to sit on with your little ones and learn the tools you need to communicate with your baby. Please call the museum at 360-757-8888 to pre-register!

Ages 2 to 5

It’s time to roll up your sleeves and let your imaginations take off in this class where we’ll be using paint, messy materials, and more! Children will experience a wide variety of artistic creativity. Please dress for potential mess!

In this week long camp, let’s learn all about the amazing world of Dinosaurs! This class is dino-mite!

Ages 6 to up

Each day campers will learn about famous artists such as Michelangelo, Monet, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, Picasso, Pollock. Then they will practice the style of art to create their own masterpieces to take home at the end of the week!

Ages 7 and up

Join magician JR Russell from Discover Magic for a week full of skills to bring out your inner magician! This program builds self-confidence while learning magic! Check out the website jrrussellmagic.com for more information. Class includes take home materials to continue magic at home!

1 – 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 6-8

Ages 5 and up

It’s time to investigate! Campers will learn all about investigating and forensics, looking for clues, and working on a case! They will put their skills to the test as they investigate a case at the museum!

1 – 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, August 9 and 10

Ages 5 and up

In this two day camp, campers will be making their own colorful clay creations. Bring your imaginations to create your sculptures on day one and then come back to paint the next day!

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Friday,  August 20-24

Ages 7 and up

Pioneer Life camp will be held at the Skagit City School located at 17508 Moore Road, Mount Vernon in partnership with the Skagit County Historical Museum! Campers will explore the Pioneer life style in an authentic setting by playing old time games, make corn husk dolls, bake bread & corn muffins, churn butter, pretend gold mining, candle dipping, weaving and much more!

Before and After Camp Care is available: 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. The cost is $10/hour per camper.

PLEASE NOTE PAYMENT IS REQUIRED TO GUARANTEE A SPOT IN A CAMP. IN THE EVENT OF A CAMP CANCELLATION BY THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM, FEES ARE 100% REFUNDABLE.

Campers are encouraged to eat breakfast or lunch before camp. Snacks will be provided.
